Jari has revisited his approach to Interactive Report control breaks in Oracle APEX. Back in 2022, Jari shared a lightweight JavaScript snippet for adding expand and collapse controls to Interactive Report control breaks. After revisiting the idea with Oracle APEX 26.1, he turned it into a reusable Dynamic Action plug-in: IR Control Break Toggler.
In his latest blog post, Jari explains how the original DOM technique evolved into a reusable plug-in with remembered state, logical button positioning and RTL-aware icons, aria-controls accessibility, and a small public API for operations such as Expand All, Collapse All, and Reset State.
